One Benefit for Small Businesses in the New ABC's Marketing World


                  ...is that there is lot's of information out there for marketers as well. 

Now you can find free or nearly free help from a number of sources.  In many cases, an email address and you name can get you a free report, video course, or other insturction. We will make every effort to expose this kind of information whenever possible.  As a business, eventually you will have to pay for some services you can't (or don't want to) complete yourself, but hopefully a little education will help you ask the right questions when necessary and make sound business judgements.

  • Did you know you could get Logo M&Ms? This is a great promo item for trade shows or as a customer "thank you."  Everyone likes chocolate & this a unique way to get your name out there.  I once new an outside sales person, for industrial products, that used to hand out peppermint candies wherever he went.  You could't believe the comotion whenever he hit an account.  And people talked about him long after he left!  Find out more.

  • Want to publish your own hard bound book? Do you have a special customer proposal, report, presentation, company history or event?  While I haven't personally used this service from Blurb, I have reviewd the website and it looks very straightforward.  I actually saw an article in USA Today about the service.  It's reasonable and might get you some real attention when you need it.  Get it printed...more here.

  • Your tax dollars at work...Have the govenment help with your research.  The Census Bureau is a great source of information.  Now they even have a service to answer your specific questions and they will point you to other relevant information.  I tried it and it works!  I got more small business demographic information than I was looking for.  Visit the Census website.

  • You can get free business cards. You have to pay the shipping (about 5 bucks) but they look great & can help you get a start on your business without a big expense.  My wife actually did this with our home address & email so she wouldn't have to keep writing the information down for people...and they look great.  Get more information about free cards.

  • Did you know you can use Google like the big guys for your local business?You can select cities and other geographies where your Google ads will appear.  You don't pay for Toledo (unless that's where you want your ad to appear).  You can select a zip code and a mile radius you want to target for your pay per click ads.  When you checking target locations just click on teh "Custom" tab.  This is a great feature as now local businesses can take advantage of Google's benefits.  Click here to find out more.
